Rosie and Duncan live in south london and both work in the entertainment industry. Rosie is a television producer specialising in comedy. 

BUTTERY FRENCH TOAST WITH CRISPY BACON, FRUIT AND MAPLE SYRUP. WASHED DOWN WITH FRESH ORANGE JUICE AND LOTS OF COFFEE.

INSTRUCTIONS

Slice the bread

Fry or grill the bacon until crispy

Meanwhile combine the egg mixture and lightly beat

Lay the bread onto a deep plate and pour the egg mixture over it, turning over and evenly soaking all the bread slices - the sugar and vanilla will sink to the bottom so drizzle it over the bread at the end. 

Heat a frying pan on a medium high heat and melt the butter then reduce the heat a little.

Add the soaked bread slices to the hot pan and allow them to lightly brown, keep an eye on them and flip them back and forth till they are as well done as you would like. 

Serve the french toast with the fruit and the bacon and a big drizzle of maple syrup! 

Maple Syrup

2 eggs 

Vanilla paste

2-3 tsp light brown sugar

INGREDIENTS

(Serves 2)

1 Brioche Bread loaf

4-6 slices of streaky bacon

1 handful of berries or fruit of your choice, used here: blueberries and figs.
